Underground Shift Geologist

OceanaGold’s Macraes Mine in New Zealand is seeking an Underground Geologist to join the team. This drive-in, drive-out opportunity is situated 1 hour from Dunedin or Oamaru, with Queenstown just 2.5 hours away for skiing, kayaking, hiking, and more on days off. It's an entry-level role suiting those passionate about Earth Sciences.

The primary function is to collect geological information via sampling, mapping, core and rock chip logging for ore delineation and extraction optimisation. The roster is 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off from 7:00am/pm to 7:00pm/am. Work across all operational areas with training provided for reassignments.

Collaborate and engage with the team in alignment with OceanaGold’s Purpose, Vision and Values. Macraes is the largest mine in New Zealand, operating underground. Identify ore zones and support drilling, sampling, and monitoring in a dynamic environment.
