We seek a highly motivated Traveling Staff Engineer or Geologist for frequent travel supporting renewable energy, infrastructure, and mission critical projects. Conduct field testing, observations, and geological investigations including mapping, sampling, and logging on remote job sites. Analyze rock, soil, groundwater, and geophysical data while performing pile load testing and soil logging. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements during fast-paced construction.

Provide oversight of field personnel, assist with technician training, and closely coordinate observations with engineering project leads. Perform quality reviews, resolve issues, and coordinate staff, resources, and workloads with regional operations. Support client relationships to meet or exceed expectations on power, renewables, and mission critical projects.

Work independently on assignments of limited scope with senior review while managing time effectively. Requirements

  • Highly motivated and action oriented
  • Able to effectively manage time and learn quickly
  • Thorough understanding of pile load testing (PLT) procedure
  • Ability to work independently on specific assignments with senior review
  • Knowledge of soil classification and boring log preparation
  • Experience conducting geological field investigations and sampling
  • Familiarity with geotechnical field activities on remote sites
  • Willingness to travel frequently to support renewable energy and mission critical projects

Responsibilities

  • Perform oversight of other field personnel on remote job sites
  • Perform various field testing and observations at remote job sites
  • Assist field operations on remote projects with technician training and review
  • Closely coordinate field observations with engineering project lead
  • Review field logs and soil samples for classification and boring log preparation
  • Conduct geological field investigations, including mapping, sampling, and logging
  • Analyze rock, soil, groundwater, and geophysical data
  • Perform pile load testing, field electrical resistivity testing, and soil logging
