About this role
Origin Mining Company operates the Mineral Park copper-molybdenum mine in Arizona, focused on responsible, sustainable resource development. The company aims to lead the U.S. copper industry through strong safety practices, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. The Geologist collects, compiles, interprets, reports, and archives geologic data to support mine operations.
Daily tasks include analyzing geologic and analytical data to assign mine material routing and using modeling software to identify mineralized areas. Geologists execute QAQC programs for data collection, including blast hole assays, and review assay lab procedures and methods. They oversee blast hole sample preparation and organization while liaising with contract miners and engineering teams.
The role involves assisting the engineering team with slope stability monitoring and assessments, as well as pit mapping to identify and document significant features of blast holes and pit walls. Team members engage mining equipment operators and supervisors on material routing decisions and effectively manage subordinate technicians. Work occurs in a hands-on, technically driven environment committed to integrity and community support.
Origin Mining advances leach and concentrator operations to produce high-quality copper and molybdenum products. The team creates long-term value through safe, professional practices familiar with 30CFR (MSHA) regulations. Opportunities align with operational excellence and sustainable resource development at an active open pit mine.
