About this role
AECOM's Water Division seeks a creative, motivated Geospatial Data Scientist with GIS focus for its Baltimore office. Support engineering, modeling, and inspection teams by automating ETL processes using Python, R, and SQL. Demonstrate strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills in this role.
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, assembling large, complex datasets to meet business needs. Identify, design, and implement process improvements like automating manual workflows and optimizing data delivery. Redesign infrastructure for greater scalability and efficiency.
Maintain ETL infrastructure for data from diverse sources using SQL and Azure Big Data technologies tailored for GIS consumption. Build analytics tools providing actionable insights, boosting operational efficiency, and tracking key performance metrics. Develop custom tools and widgets for ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field
- 2 years of experience in GIS, data science, data engineering, or cloud programming or demonstrated equivalency
- Experience in SQL and database management/development
- Experience with ESRI suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Hubs, Dashboards, Experience Builder, and ArcGIS for Power BI
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Query
- Valid US Driver’s License and pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review
- Pass drug screening as condition of employment
- Experience with API frameworks such as ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, R-ArcGIS, CityWorks API, Flask, and Django (preferred)
