About this role

AECOM's Water Division seeks a creative, motivated Geospatial Data Scientist with GIS focus for the Baltimore office. The role supports engineering, modeling, and inspection teams by automating ETL processes using Python, R, and SQL. Demonstrate strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills to deliver impactful solutions.

Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture while assembling large, complex data sets to meet business requirements. Identify, design, and implement process improvements like automating manual workflows and optimizing data delivery. Maintain infrastructure for ETL from diverse sources using SQL and Azure Big Data technologies for GIS.

Build analytics tools to provide actionable insights, improve efficiency, and track key metrics. Develop custom tools and widgets for ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and support infrastructure needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in GIS, data science, data engineering, or cloud programming or demonstrated equivalency
  • Experience in SQL and database management/development
  • Experience with ESRI suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Hubs, Dashboards, Experience Builder, and ArcGIS for Power BI
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Query
  • Valid US Driver’s License and pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review
  • Pass drug screening as condition of employment
  • Experience with API frameworks such as ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, R-ArcGIS, CityWorks API, Flask, and Django
