About this role

ERM is seeking a GIS Specialist to lead the design and delivery of large-scale geospatial projects supporting site investigation, remediation, and due diligence across India. The role centers on advanced mapping, enterprise system management, and mobile data collection solutions that directly inform environmental consulting outcomes.

Day-to-day work includes potentiometric surface mapping, groundwater plume modeling, geological cross-sections, and historical imagery analysis. You will maintain ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, and SQL geodatabases while authoring Python and ModelBuilder tools to automate geoprocessing and deploying Survey123 and Field Maps for field teams.

You will serve as a technical advisor to clients, support proposal development, and mentor a small team of 2–4 GIS professionals. The position requires close collaboration with environmental scientists and project managers in a fast-paced consulting environment focused on technical quality and innovation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
4–5 years of experience in GIS and environmental consulting.
Advanced proficiency in Esri’s ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Experience with AutoCAD Map/Civil 3D and GNSS data processing tools such as GPS Pathfinder Office and Pix4D.
Strong skills in geodatabase design, spatial analysis, symbology, labeling, and data visualization.
Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of large-scale GIS projects across site investigation, remediation, and due diligence.
Provide advanced geospatial analysis and mapping including potentiometric surfaces, groundwater plume modeling, and impacted area delineation.
Develop and maintain enterprise GIS systems including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, and SQL geodatabases.
Author and maintain Python and ModelBuilder tools for geoprocessing automation.
Lead the deployment of mobile data collection systems using Survey123, Field Maps, and Trimble GPS.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and support proposal development and strategic project planning.
Mentor and coach junior GIS staff while leading or influencing a team of 2–4 GIS professionals.
