Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, seeks a Field Geologist to join its Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team. Intertek-PSI delivers construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, including geotechnical services and environmental engineering. This role supports growth in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry.
The Field Geologist performs independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, applying judgment for minor adaptations. Duties include on-site observations, sample collection, and geotechnical tests, alongside laboratory testing oversight. Regular field and lab work involves multiple projects and client interactions.
Professionals attend client site meetings, review project plans and specifications, and communicate effectively with teams. Safety adherence is essential to protect self and others. The position requires physical capability for demanding environments.

Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal and written communication
- Ability to work off shifts and overtime
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently, occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to kneel, squat, and climb occasionally
- Geology experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests associated with geotechnical investigations
- Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams
- Perform and oversee laboratory testing activities
- Work both in the field and laboratory regularly
- Review project plans and specifications prepared by others
- Work on one or multiple projects at a time
- Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal and others' safety
