In this role you will conduct and manage environmental investigations including soil and groundwater remediation and soil gas evaluations. Meet with clients and regulatory agencies such as the EPA and Regional Water Quality Control Board. Write remedial documents and reports including feasibility studies and corrective action plans.

Coordinate field work investigations including scheduling and oversight of drilling firms. Direct the production of maps using GIS and maintain chemical and stratigraphic data for time-series graphs. Conduct statistical evaluations of groundwater data including trend analyses and inter-well comparisons.

Requirements

  • BS in Geology or closely aligned field including completion of a field course of study
  • 10+ years of experience providing environmental consulting services including conducting subsurface investigations, writing technical reports, and using GIS
  • Experience conducting groundwater sampling using various methods including low-flow sampling
  • California PG required
  • Experience conducting stratigraphic logging using drilling methods including hollow-stem auger, direct-push, air rotary, and rock coring
  • 40-hour OSHA certification and current 8-Hour HAZWOPER refresher
  • Ability to write project work plans, health and safety plans, traffic control plans, and erosion control plans
  • Ability to mentor, train, and manage staff with strong technical writing and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage environmental investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, soil gas and indoor air evaluations for clients with complex technical and regulatory issues
  • Meet with clients and regulatory agencies including the US Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic Substances Control, and Regional Water Quality Control Board
  • Write and review remedial documents and reports such as feasibility studies, remedial action plans, and completion reports
  • Design and negotiate remedial solutions for contaminated soil and groundwater
  • Direct the production of maps and plans in digital format using GIS and maintain data to produce time-series graphs
  • Conduct statistical evaluations of groundwater data including trend analyses, intra-well comparisons, and inter-well comparisons
  • Coordinate field work investigations including scheduling and oversight of utility locating, excavation, and drilling firms
  • Mentor and train junior staff in field procedures, data management, and GIS production while ensuring quality work product
