GeoYeti focuses on advanced analytics, data science, and development of applications that support such work. We seek a Senior Geospatial Data Scientist to support a client in Reston, VA. The role involves supporting a broad range of IC and DoD clients with global end-user interactions.

Team members interact with end users around the globe regardless of role. Responsibilities include identifying corollary datasets to compare against model outputs, especially those unlikely used in training sets. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of ML models.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI with FSP required to start
Expert level understanding of Python, including geospatial libraries like Fiona and Shapely
Expert level understanding of spatial data storage formats such as ESRI GeoDatabases, shapefiles, GeoPackage, and text-based storage in spatial databases such as PostGIS
Understanding of storage formats and methodologies for ML models
Experience with geospatial data science in IC/DoD environments
Proficiency in handling large-scale spatial datasets for model validation

Responsibilities

Identify corollary datasets to compare against model outputs, especially those unlikely used as part of the training set
Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of ML models
Develop and apply geospatial machine learning models using Python libraries
Analyze spatial data from formats like shapefiles and GeoPackages
Integrate spatial data into PostGIS databases for analysis
Compare model predictions with independent geospatial datasets
Support geospatial data pipelines for IC and DoD applications
