About this role
At Haley & Aldrich, you'll tackle clients' most meaningful challenges in the built and natural environments, building stronger communities along the way. We are seeking a Staff Hydrogeologist 2 to support hydrogeologic site characterization and field investigation programs for diverse environmental and infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will independently conduct field investigations including soil, groundwater, and surface water assessments, as well as hydrogeologic field testing such as pumping tests and in-situ permeability testing. You will also help organize, evaluate, and interpret hydrogeologic and analytical data to support site characterization efforts.
You will work with highly skilled professionals on collaborative project teams in a dynamic environment, contributing to technical memoranda, reports, and project communications under the direction of senior staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop strong field, data evaluation, and technical reporting skills.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology or related field.
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Proficient technical writing, verbal communication, reasoning, and time-management skills.
- Able to work independently or with minimal direction in performing tasks under the direction of senior staff.
- Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrating a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct field investigations and assessments of soil, groundwater, surface water, etc., using approved industry standard procedures.
- Conduct or observe hydrogeologic field testing such as pumping tests and in-situ permeability testing.
- Use results of field investigations including subsurface explorations, monitoring well construction, and field sampling to support hydrogeologic site characterization.
- Support hydrogeologic data organization, reduction, and synthesis.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of field activities and data evaluation.
- Apply academic training and use computer software to perform calculations and evaluate site data.
- Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
- Assist with development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized tasks or project opportunities.
