About this role

Essel Environmental seeks a Geologist to join our team, providing responsive, high-quality environmental, engineering, and emergency response services. This role involves analyzing geological data and preparing detailed technical reports.

You will evaluate potential environmental risks and impacts, develop remediation plans, and oversee remedial actions. Fieldwork includes conducting soil and groundwater investigations, performing field sampling, and ensuring compliance with protocols.

You'll collaborate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to achieve project goals. Manage munitions response projects with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance, and establish a strong technical reputation within the organization.

Opportunities include supervising personnel and mentoring staff for career development. Contribute to business development by preparing proposals, and apply project management skills to schedule and control costs while managing client expectations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental and engineering consulting, with a focus on remedial actions and munitions response projects
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite Products
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively interact with clients, regulatory agencies, field operations, technical staff, and subcontractors
  • Capability to develop project work plans, health and safety plans, traffic control plans, erosion control plans, etc.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 to 50 percent of the time to project sites
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, or related field; M.S./P.G. or other relevant certifications; demonstrated experience in managing environmental remediation construction projects; previous involvement in proposal preparation
