EHS Support is a specialty environmental consulting firm that provides solutions to complex environmental, health, and safety challenges across a range of market sectors and industries. As a Hydrogeologist reporting to the Victorian Team Lead, you will work on water resource projects as well as the Contaminated Sites and Groundwater Sector.

Your day-to-day work involves management, analysis, and presentation of environmental investigation and monitoring data, including groundwater, surface water, soil, and recovery data. You will also provide technical expertise in groundwater flow and well hydraulics, contaminated land assessments, conceptual site model development, and mining and CSG water management.

Field programs are a key part of the role, including logging, drilling and monitoring of well installations, set up and supervision of pumping tests, and field assessment and sampling of soils and groundwater. You will also supervise subcontractors in the field, such as drilling and excavation supervision.

This remote position based in Victoria offers the opportunity to collaborate with experts located throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, or environmental engineering; postgraduate degree in hydrogeology desirable
  • Up to three years of experience in a relevant environmental role, including training and experience in groundwater and soil sampling and ideally pumping test analysis
  • A developing understanding of environmental and resource regulations
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI and other database management preferred but not essential
  • Pump test analysis experience
  • Australian experience and current ability to work in Australia (citizenship or valid visa) required
  • Current Australian state driving license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage, analyze, and present environmental investigation and monitoring data including groundwater, surface water, soil, and recovery data
  • Conduct desktop data gathering and compilation, and background reviews of technical guidance, regulations, and case studies
  • Assist with reporting and preparation of written deliverables such as monitoring reports, pump test reports, environmental site assessments, work plans, health and safety plans, and proposals
  • Provide technical expertise in groundwater flow and well hydraulics, contaminated land assessments, conceptual site model development, and mining and CSG water management
  • Coordinate and implement environmental field programs including logging, drilling, and monitoring of well installations
  • Set up, supervise, and analyze pumping tests, and conduct field assessment and sampling of soils and groundwater
  • Supervise subcontractors in the field, including drilling and excavation supervision
  • Manage project and task planning and implementation of scope, schedule, and budgets
