About this role
Langan is seeking an Environmental Engineer or Geologist to join its collaborative team in San Jose or Sacramento, California. This individual will serve a key function in site exploration activities including contaminated site investigation and remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, and vapor intrusion investigation.
Day-to-day responsibilities include performing field inspections and environmental investigations, air, soil, gas, and groundwater sampling, and remediation of contaminated properties. The role also involves assisting with planning and execution of field investigations, logging borings, collecting samples, and performing field tests, as well as field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Geology
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- 0-4 years of work-related experience
- Prior relevant internship or professional work experience preferred
- EIT certification or current registration for FE exam preferred for engineering degree applicants
- Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and multitasking abilities
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections and environmental investigations
- Perform air, soil, gas, and groundwater sampling and remediation of contaminated properties
- Assist with planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and collecting and recording data
- Provide field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with job specifications
- Identify and implement solutions to routine and complex field and/or laboratory problems and accurately document results
- Assist with preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation
- Perform other duties as requested
