About this role
APTIM Federal Services is currently seeking a Sr. Level Environmental Geologist to support the increasing growth of project work within our Remediation business line. The preferred candidate would be a credentialled professional geologist or hydrogeologist with proven experience supporting characterization and remediation projects in a senior technical role. Primary responsibilities will include the planning and implementation of remedial investigations, remedial actions, and optimizing existing remedies.
Apply technical expertise to improve project and proposal effectiveness from a technical, quality and safety perspective. Characterize the geologic conditions, hydrologic character, contaminant types and distribution to evaluate risks and provide input for the design and optimization of appropriate remedial measures. Design and execute hydrologic testing to define the character of groundwater aquifers and the fate and transport of contaminants.
Support project planning and execution in accordance with established policies, procedures, and requirements including Federal and State regulations. Communicate field results and recommended course of action to project managers, client representatives and regulatory personnel. Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff, work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preparation of proposals and work plans, overseeing and mentoring project staff, and completion of CERCLA reports. Possess the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives, government regulators, and APTIM colleagues. Strong people skills with a collaborative demeanor are a must; maintain strict adherence to company safety and quality programs.

Requirements
- Possess a Bachelors' degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related discipline
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the environmental field
- Licensed as a Professional Geologist, preferably in California
- Experience supporting DoD and CERCLA-funded projects
- Possess 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate preferred
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel to project sites and APTIM offices as required
- Core competency in Microsoft Office Products
