About this role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Geospatial Data Scientist who has borderless thinking and gets their thrills from creating scalable spatial workflows. Becoming part of our Data Solutions team means joining a journey of challenging work at the intersection of data and social impact. You'll thrive by finding innovative solutions in development-centered projects, especially around energy.

Your day-to-day involves applying VIDA’s spatial analysis tools and preparing software for real-life projects ranging from energy access planning to agriculture or climate risk assessment. You'll improve, automate, and extend workflows with Python and SQL scripting, while exploring, pre-processing, and integrating new datasets and map layers. Additionally, you'll explore and implement new spatial data analysis methods using Machine Learning and sector-specific modelling frameworks.

You'll ensure clear documentation, reporting, and communication across all project phases, making project outputs meet technical quality standards and accessible to end-users. You'll interact with international project partners and clients, preparing and presenting work in reports and presentations in English and French. You'll also facilitate workshops, trainings, and meetings to ensure alignment and adoption of project outcomes.
