About this role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to support investigation and remediation projects. The role combines technical field work with office-based analysis in a culture focused on innovation and quality performance.

Daily work includes performing field and office tasks that apply scientific principles, drafting technical proposals, and preparing project documents such as work plans, monitoring reports, and closure reports.

You will participate in multiple project teams simultaneously while leading hydrogeology Conceptual Site Model development, advanced site characterization, and evaluation of groundwater flow and contaminant transport pathways.

The position offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth and advancement as part of the Federal Solutions team serving government clients.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in geological sciences or related discipline
  • 15+ years of related work experience, including experience as technical leader with oversight of lower-level geoscience/hydrogeological professionals
  • Consulting experience in both office and field settings, including work plan writing, field project coordination, Health & Safety responsibility, and groundwater/soil sampling
  • Professional Geologist/Geoscientist Registration, or application in process
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment as both an excellent team player and a leader
  • Willingness to travel to project sites to kick off field events, typically 2-3 days every quarter

Responsibilities

  • Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.
  • Assist with the drafting of technical proposals and project documents, such as work plans, UFP-QAPPs, monitoring reports, and closure reports.
  • Participate in multiple teams simultaneously working on varied projects pertaining to investigation and remediation.
  • Lead hydrogeology Conceptual Site Model (CSM) development, including advanced site characterization planning and identification of groundwater flow regimes and contaminant transport pathways.
  • Evaluate groundwater-surface water interaction on project sites.
  • Design and execute pumping tests and other aquifer-related field tests.
