GIS Developer

As a GIS Developer with WSP, you will sit inside the Transformation & Digital Insights service line and create bespoke GIS functionality and web applications in answer to client requirements. These clients will come from a variety of disciplines and will pose interesting questions that require complex answers not possible with out-of-the-box software solutions.

Collaboration is key to everything we do in the Digital Advisory service line, so possess strong teamworking and communication skills to explain complex GIS processes to staff and clients with varying knowledge of digital data and software platforms. Innovation is highly desired to stay abreast of current technological trends that add value to the service line.

Demonstrate keen attention to detail and appreciation of quality in everything produced, whether a Python script or a bespoke web application built using OpenLayers and React to serve data via ArcGIS Server. Work closely with Database and Software Development teams to align GIS development with existing software.

Identify potential to add value by integrating GIS processes with other teams in the Transformation & Digital Insights service line. Show an appetite to solve problems creatively as part of a collaborative team at pace, driving innovative solutions.
