The Senior Field Geologist performs science-related tasks under limited review for environmental contamination solutions and compliance at various sites. This competent professional determines methodologies for scientific studies within project scope, schedule, and budget.
Daily efforts include assisting in development of Work Plans for sampling contaminants in air, groundwater, surface water, marine environment, sediments, and soil. The role involves planning and directing environmental remediation and monitoring in the field. Technical tasks cover project figures, boring logs, work plans, and report preparation.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geology, geological sciences, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience performing science-related tasks on environmental projects in government and commercial environments
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER training required
- Knowledge of and experience with federal clients such as USACE, AFCEC
- Experience in CERCLA, RCRA, and TSCA
- ArcGIS and AutoCAD experience preferred
- Broadly applied software including Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license required
Responsibilities
- Assist in development of Work Plans for sampling, analyzing, and reporting concentrations of contaminants in air, groundwater, surface water, marine environment, sediments, and soil
- Assist in development of project figures, boring logs, and other technical graphic materials
- Assist with technical tasks such as work plan and report preparation for client documents
- Plan and direct environmental remediation and monitoring efforts in the field
- Assist in development, production, and delivery of technical documents to meet project schedules and quality standards
- Assist in management of projects in accordance with corporate and contract health and safety requirements
- Assist in preparation of progress reporting documents including weekly and monthly status reports
