The company seeks a Hydrogeologist or Geophysicist to join the Water Team as a Project Engineer/Geologist. This role involves collaborating with state, federal, and local clients on water resources modeling and planning projects across California.
You will develop hydrogeologic conceptual and geostatistical texture models to support groundwater projects. Interpret geologic and geophysical data for basin characterization, managed aquifer recharge, and subsidence mitigation. Create code, analysis tools, and machine learning models for basin characterization efforts.

Requirements
- 3-7 years of professional experience in geology, hydrogeology or geophysics
- BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geophysics, Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- MS and/or PhD preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), Certified Hydrogeologist (CHG), and/or Professional Geophysicist (PGP)
- Experience in the water resources field
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to interact with clients, stakeholder groups, and project teams
Responsibilities
- Develop hydrogeologic conceptual and geostatistical texture models to support groundwater projects and groundwater models
- Interpret geologic and geophysical data and integrate it into hydrogeologic and geostatistical frameworks for basin characterization, managed aquifer recharge, subsidence mitigation, and interconnected surface water-groundwater modeling
- Develop code, analysis tools, and machine learning models to support local- and regional-scale basin characterization efforts
- Create and maintain code to support and analyze modeling projects
- Perform data analysis and management with emphasis on water resources
- Support development and implementation of integrated surface water-groundwater models
- Interpret model results to support policy and regulatory processes
- Provide technical leadership and support for water resources planning and management activities related to water supply, water source vulnerability, groundwater basin characterization, and hydrogeologic field investigations
