About this role

Harbour Energy, created in 2014, has grown into one of the world’s largest independent oil and gas companies, producing 475,000 to 485,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day across Norway, the UK, Germany, Argentina, and North Africa. The Senior Geophysicist will lead the 3D high resolution seismic acquisition and processing project for Zama while supporting static reservoir characterization for its development. Harbour maintains competitive costs, low GHG emissions, and a leading CO2 storage position in Europe.

Day-to-day involves performing advanced seismic interpretation, well calibration, seismic reservoir characterization, fault seal analysis, and velocity model building. Responsibilities include quality control and management of geophysics databases, contributing to reservoir characterization for development wells, and supporting corporate business plans and approval processes. Participation in internal and external technical meetings is key.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Geophysics or related Geoscience subjects
  • Master’s degree in Geophysics or related Geoscience desirable
  • Proficient in English (written & spoken, ≥ B2 level)
  • Over 15 years of experience in static reservoir characterization, specifically for complex turbiditic environments
  • Experience in field development planning and preparing well proposals
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in geophysics for oil and gas exploration

Responsibilities

  • Lead the 3D high resolution seismic acquisition and processing project for Zama
  • Support static reservoir characterization for the development of Zama
  • Perform advanced seismic interpretation, well calibration, seismic reservoir characterization, fault seal analysis, and velocity model building and updates
  • Contribute to reservoir characterization requirements of development wells to support sub-surface activities and studies
  • Quality control, consolidate and manage geophysics databases
  • Support the corporate business plan, Resource management, and internal/external approval processes
  • Participate in internal and external partners technical meetings
  • Ensure all activities comply with HSES procedures, regulatory requirements, legislation, Ethics and Compliance Policies
