The individual will play an integral part in delivering a technically excellent result to clients. Key deliverable includes full regional to block-scale interpretation and prospectivity evaluation leading to a risked and ranked portfolio of new prospects.
Scope includes post-well analysis, cross section construction, application of Play Based Exploration concepts, generation of Gross Depositional Environment maps, identification of new hydrocarbon plays and fairways, and building Common Risk Segment maps. Perform 2D and 3D seismic interpretation in a highly complex salt tectonic regime, detailed prospect definition and risking, and probabilistic volumetric calculations.
Integrate geological observations with multiphysics (gravity/magnetics), seismic processing, seismic interpretation, petrophysics, reservoir characterization, basin modelling/petroleum systems analysis, and reservoir engineering. Work collaboratively with other specialist disciplines within CGG. Role based in Villahermosa with potential to visit offices in the UK and US.

- Thorough understanding of downhole logs and petrophysical measurements; liaise with petrophysical specialists
- Expert knowledge of Play Based Exploration concepts to identify new plays and prospects
- Solid proficiency in well cross section generation and mapping software, preferably Landmark DecisionSpace or Petrel
- Demonstrated understanding of salt geometries, processes, and interpretation strategies
- Understand depositional processes and map reservoirs and seals from fluvial, deepwater, carbonates into Gross Depositional Environment maps
- Solid knowledge of geochemistry and Petroleum Systems
