About this role
KoBold builds AI models for mineral exploration and deploys those models—alongside novel sensors—to guide decisions on KoBold-owned-and-operated exploration programs. In this role, you will own the computational hydrogeology program for exploration projects, including pre-feasibility and feasibility engineering studies. You will create water management strategies that maximize safety, feasibility, and value of future mines.
You will develop multiple alternative groundwater management strategies and quality metrics. Identify data needed to evaluate strategy efficacy and differentiate system responses. Design data collection programs and work with field teams to execute methodologies.
Build and run computational analyses, including numerical simulations of groundwater flow, post-processing algorithms, and uncertainty quantification. Your groundwater flow models will integrate into KoBold’s dynamic mine-planning and operations technology. Join an outstanding team of geoscientists, data scientists, and software engineers from leading technology companies.
Work closely with field hydrogeologists, mining engineers, and computational scientists. Contribute to novel data collection programs and build physics-based and data-driven models of exploration site hydrogeology. Advance a portfolio of more than 60 projects with potential for high-quality discoveries.
