Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a Geospatial Data Scientist providing onsite support for an analytics group executing geospatial R&D projects. Develop custom code, scripts, modules, macro procedures, libraries, and dynamically linked libraries for geospatial analysis functions using Python to augment and analyze data. Provide ad-hoc support for writing scripts to automate geoprocessing of large datasets.

Leverage available computing resources to handle very large geospatial datasets, creating efficiencies in data management including data deduplication and reduction. Streamline geospatial data processing and scale processes from regional to global. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, or related area of study (relevant experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • Senior Labor Category: Minimum 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 6 years of experience with a Doctorate
  • Active/current TS/SCI with required polygraph
  • US citizenship required
  • Willingness to work onsite full time
  • Python Development & Automation – Scripting for data analysis, workflow automation, and application development
  • Data Modeling & Databases – Experience modeling geospatial data and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Geospatial & Image Processing – Spatial data analysis, image data extraction, and strong geospatial reasoning skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom code, scripts, modules, macro procedures, libraries, and dynamically linked libraries for geospatial analysis functions using Python to augment and analyze data
  • Provide ad-hoc support for writing scripts in Python and other coding languages to automate geoprocessing of large datasets in response to analysts’ needs
  • Instruct and assist analysts in writing custom code and scripts as needed
  • Leverage available computing resources to handle very large geospatial datasets
  • Create efficiencies in data management including data deduplication and reduction
  • Streamline geospatial data processing
  • Scale processes from regional to global
