About this role
Arcadis seeks an Entry-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join the Resilience Environment team. The role supports environmental assessment and remediation projects with a focus on emerging contaminants. Candidates graduating in May 2026 are encouraged to apply for this position starting in May or June 2026.
The position requires 50% to 75% field work including oversight of drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation. Additional field tasks include groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, remediation system operation and maintenance, and vapor intrusion surveys. Regional travel occurs one to two days per week with occasional longer domestic trips.
You will assist Project Managers and Task Managers with planning and executing site characterization, investigation, and remediation activities. Office responsibilities include data compilation, regulatory file reviews, cost estimates, and project strategy development. All field work must prioritize health and safety protocols.
Travel expenses are reimbursable and a valid driver’s license is required. Estimated field travel reaches up to 75% in the first two years and typically reduces to 50% by the third year as responsibilities shift toward task management and client communications.

Responsibilities
- Prepare subcontracts and oversee the work of subcontractors.
- Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation.
- Conduct groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion surveys, and remediation system operation and maintenance.
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Perform data compilation and interpretation along with regulatory file reviews.
- Develop cost estimates, health and safety plans, proposals, and project schedules.
