Conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs. Provide technical guidance for stratigraphic and groundwater drilling programs. Apply available data pertinent to geology and hydrogeology, accurately describing and classifying soil and rock samples.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field and typically up to 3 years of related work experience
  • Familiarity with software packages typically used in geological analyses
  • Knowledge of basic geological and hydrogeological theories and practices
  • Ability to utilize relevant geological techniques and analyses
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites
  • Some assignments involve the use of computer software applications like spreadsheets, CAD, aquifer test analysis

Responsibilities

  • Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic geological principles and fundamental theories
  • Apply available data pertinent to geology and/or hydrogeology, accurately describing and classifying soil and rock samples
  • Provide technical guidance for stratigraphic and groundwater drilling programs
  • Conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs
  • Assist in geological mapping and in performing basic geologic analyses
  • Assist in geologic report preparation, including preparation of cross sections and compilation of environmental sample analyses
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
