About this role

ProSidian Consulting seeks a Field Geologist / Soil Scientist for subsurface characterization and soil analysis on an exempt 1099 contract basis. Support Pasco County in enhancing water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems through engineering, planning, environmental, and digital transformation services. Focus on Energy, Sustainability & Infrastructure sector clients across the Southeast Region.

Provide geotechnical services in environmental solutions for utilities like Pasco County Board of County Commissioners. Engage in field investigations to characterize geologic and soil conditions. Oversee drilling, sampling, logging, and geologic hazard assessments while supporting lab testing and data interpretation.

Join multidisciplinary teams of global professionals delivering enterprise service solutions for risk management, compliance, and sustainability. Work with public sector clients including government agencies on solution-centric engagements. Target drivers of economic profit at intersections of assets, processes, policies, and people.

Position supports professional services in CONUS - Pasco County with potential conversion to full-time ProSidian W-2 employment. Contribute to forward-thinking clients solving problems and improving operations. Align with industry-leading practices in geosciences and earth science exploration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Geology, Earth Science, or Soil Science
  • Professional Geologist (PG) preferred
  • Relevant Energy, Sustainability & Infrastructure sector experience
  • Functional expertise in subsurface characterization
  • Technical skills in soil analysis
  • Knowledge of geotechnical field investigations
  • Experience supporting environmental services for utilities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations to characterize geologic and soil conditions
  • Oversee drilling, sampling, logging, and geologic hazard assessments
  • Support lab testing and assist engineers with data interpretation
  • Perform subsurface characterization for water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Analyze soil samples for geotechnical engineering applications
  • Evaluate environmental conditions in utility systems
  • Contribute to planning and resilience enhancements for reclaimed water systems
