Join as GIS Developer/DevOps Specialist supporting Bureau of Land Management’s Geospatial Business Platform. Play key role in migrating Abandoned Mine Site Cleanup Module to GIS-centric, mobile-enabled solution using Esri COTS technologies.

Handle hands-on expertise with ArcGIS Enterprise solutions, geospatial databases, and mobile field data collection tools. Provide operational support, system reliability, and implement new features in Scaled Agile environment. Develop, maintain, and operate AMSCM system as primary DevOps specialist.

Collaborate with project leads, developers, and data stewards to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Work in DIRM-provided environment configuring GIS components. Incorporate user stories and backlog items aligned with business needs.

Track progress using Jira, design schema updates on structured release cycles, and document all activities. Develop test plans to validate updates and ensure full functionality. Thrive as trusted partner building technology-agnostic solutions for important mission sets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in GIS development, DevOps engineering, or systems administration
  • Proficiency in developing ArcGIS Server Object Extensions (SOE/SOI) using C#/.NET
  • Experience deploying and supporting GIS solutions for desktop, web, and mobile environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in collaborative, agile environment
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background investigation for on-site government systems access

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary DevOps specialist developing, maintaining, and operating AMSCM system
  • Incorporate user stories and backlog items into AMSCM application aligned with business requirements
  • Provide Operations and Maintenance support for GIS components including database schema, access, configurations, web services, and portal items
  • Configure, implement, and maintain GIS system components in DIRM-provided environment
  • Develop and extend GIS system capabilities using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python including custom geoprocessing services, SOEs, and SOIs
  • Track and report development and deployment progress using Jira
  • Design and implement schema updates and new configurations on structured release cycle
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure full system functionality and validate software updates
