GeoYeti focuses on advanced analytics, data science, development of the applications that support such work. We seek a Senior Geospatial Data Scientist to support a client in Reston, VA. We support a broad range of IC and DoD clients, though team members interact with end users around the globe.
Identify corollary datasets to compare against model outputs, especially those unlikely used as part of the training set. Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of ML models. Leverage expertise in geospatial data handling for mission-critical applications.
Team members engage directly with global end users across IC and DoD portfolios. Work in a collaborative environment supporting advanced analytics initiatives. Contribute to applications that drive geospatial insights for high-stakes operations.

Requirements
- Minimum Top Secret clearance required to start; active TS/SCI preferred
- Expert level understanding of Python, including geospatial libraries like Fiona and Shapely
- Expert level understanding of spatial data storage formats such as ESRI GeoDatabases, shapefiles, GeoPackage, and text-based storage in spatial databases such as PostGIS
- Understanding of storage formats and methodologies for ML models
- Proficiency in geospatial data processing and analysis
- Experience applying machine learning to spatial datasets
- Ability to handle large-scale geospatial datasets for IC/DoD applications
Responsibilities

- Process and analyze geospatial data using Python libraries like Fiona and Shapely
- Manage spatial data in formats such as ESRI GeoDatabases, shapefiles, and GeoPackage
- Query and store spatial data in databases like PostGIS
- Develop methodologies for storing and deploying geospatial ML models
- Support global end users with geospatial analytics solutions
