Work on the delivery of a broad range of geoscience projects across Energy, Infrastructure, Nuclear Waste, Water and Mining sectors. Perform geological/geophysical characterisation and conceptualisation of the subsurface up to kilometre depths, including analysis, interpretation and integration of mapping, well/borehole, seismic, laboratory data and literature information.
Join a multidisciplinary team of experts in the UK with strong links to global geoscience technical communities and wider WSP Earth and Environment businesses. Collaborate with talented and diverse professionals delivering projects across multiple sectors globally. The team helps clients optimise performance, boost profitability and operate responsibly amid decarbonisation challenges.
Contribute to consultancy growth through proactive business development, work-winning and industry networking. The team commercially develops and markets the world-leading FracMan® discrete fracture network software. A choice of office locations available, favouring London/Reading, Bristol/Cardiff, Birmingham/Nottingham, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Requirements
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics or related discipline
- Expertise in subsurface characterisation using mapping, borehole, seismic and laboratory data
- Proficiency in geo-modelling software for numerical simulations of geological and fluid processes
- Experience integrating geological, geophysical, geotechnical, hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical data
- Skills in developing conceptual and numerical site models up to kilometre depths
- Ability to produce traceable workflows for rock mass property modelling
- Proven business development and work-winning capabilities in geoscience consulting
- Availability for UK and international travel to deliver projects
Responsibilities
- Deliver broad range of geoscience projects across Energy, Infrastructure, Nuclear Waste, Water and Mining sectors
- Conduct geological/geophysical characterisation and conceptualisation of subsurface up to kilometre depths
- Analyse, interpret and integrate mapping, well/borehole, seismic, laboratory data and literature across disciplines
- Turn conceptual site models into numerical models of geological horizons, structures and rock mass properties
- Apply robust, traceable geo-modelling workflows in specialist software
- Contribute to business growth through proactive development, bid preparation and industry networking
- Produce high-quality technical reports and deliver presentations
- Communicate project deliverables to clients and advocate for modelling services
