We empower our teams, contribute to our communities, and operate sustainably. Leidos is hiring an ESRI GIS Developer to provide daily support for ESRI GIS systems.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Geographic Information Systems and experience with ESRI technologies. This role plays a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining GIS applications and systems that support client projects. Manage administrative tasks within a complex multi-server environment, including starting and stopping systems while ensuring performance meets expectations.

Collaborate closely with application developers to migrate code changes through testing phases and into production. Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including the project manager, lead technical analysts, technical developers, and the business team. This environment fosters thriving through commitment to doing the right thing for customers, people, and community.

Develop and optimize GIS workflows to improve efficiency. Build interactive web mapping applications and data visualization tools. Stay current with industry trends and emerging GIS technologies to recommend enhancements and assist in implementing new tools.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with four plus (4+) years of prior relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server)
Experience with GIS programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL for automation and application development
Understanding of geospatial data formats, data management, and analysis techniques
Familiarity with web mapping and cartographic principles
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and support GIS applications using ESRI technologies, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, Field Maps, Experience Builder
Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and end-users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for GIS solutions
Collaborate with other GIS developers and analysts to support application deployment, configuration, and upgrades
Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings to ensure proper access controls
Create and maintain geospatial data, including data collection, processing, and analysis
Develop and optimize GIS workflows and processes to improve efficiency
Build and maintain interactive web mapping applications and data visualization tools
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications
