About this role

We are seeking a talented Geophysicist to join our exploration and subsurface team in Algiers. The successful candidate will contribute to seismic data acquisition, interpretation, and analysis to support exploration, development, and production projects.

Daily responsibilities include processing seismic and geophysical data using appropriate technologies and software tools. You will interface consistently with customers, providing advice on processing parameters and best practices while ensuring timely delivery according to project schedules.

You will define, build, and submit test jobs, interpreting results to provide parameter recommendations and suggest further testing if required. Validating the accuracy and efficiency of all testing and production job sequences is a key part of the role, alongside investigating and reporting problems encountered during seismic data processing.

Our team environment encourages mentoring and guiding junior staff to enhance team capabilities. You will assist the Project Leader with daily project and personnel management, including velocity picking and quality control, while forecasting resource requirements and tracking project status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience in geophysical data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
  • Proficiency with geophysical software such as Petrel, Kingdom, or OpendTect.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of reservoir characterization and seismic interpretation is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations within Algeria as required.
