
About this role
AECOM seeks a GIS Specialist II to support the Water Resources practice, focusing primarily on GIS tasks related to flood, coastal, wastewater, and port engineering. The role involves working on multiple concurrent projects in a collaborative environment. Coordinate with GIS team members and project managers to deliver results.
Utilize Geographic Information Systems and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information. Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping for project needs. Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
Perform quality assurance on GIS data and graphic components while leading project-specific tasks to meet client deadlines. Maintain effective communication among team members and clients. Engage in spatial data collection, creation, conversion, editing, and custom GIS development.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Hydrology, or other related field with a strong emphasis in GIS and two plus years of professional GIS experience or demonstrated equivalency
- Strong understanding of ESRI ArcGIS products including ArcGIS Pro
- Familiarity with environmental processes that drive flooding and coastal engineering issues within Texas
- Experience in watershed modeling and delineating floodplains from engineering models
- Actively working towards or possess a current GISP Certification
- Proficiency in managing web-based GIS applications (Experience Builder, dashboards)
- Proficiency in automating geospatial processes using ArcPy or Model Builder
- Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic design and production concepts and principles
Responsibilities
