We seek a Senior GIS Developer to support our geospatial application portfolio through all software development lifecycle aspects.
The qualified front-end web developer will design, develop, test, and maintain software products. Primarily use React/Typescript for application experiences and Python or C# for backend tools. Extensive experience in React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, plus ArcGIS JavaScript SDK is strongly preferred.
Divide time between maintaining current software and designing new applications in a collaborative development team. Collaborate with GIS and other teams for ongoing enhancements, ensuring responsive UI and seamless user experience. Submitting a portfolio of prior work is strongly encouraged.
Participate in software development planning, code reviews, and DevOps for version control. Research data sources and tools, including monitoring tools, while handling special projects. The position is on-site at Invenergy's headquarters in downtown Chicago, IL.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in front-end software development with React, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
- 5+ years of experience with scripting languages and tools such as Python, or other data processing tools
- 2+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile software development (e.g. Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Jira)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS API for Python, ArcGIS REST API, Pandas
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS products
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and maintain responsive, modular UI components using React & Typescript
- Design and develop geoprocessing tools, automation processes, and web services using Python, C#, and/or Node.js
- Create custom Python geoprocessing tools for ArcGIS
- Manage, analyze, process, project, convert, and present geospatial data in various formats
- Implement ETL processes for data integrations with internal and external APIs
- Participate in software development planning and code reviews
- Collaborate with GIS and other teams to provide ongoing enhancements
- Research data sources and tools, including monitoring tools
