About this role

Koniag Technology Solutions seeks a Senior GIS Developer/Architect to support KTS and government customers in the ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise environment at HUD. This remote position requires obtaining Public Trust and focuses on publishing spatial web services and designing web apps. Broad knowledge of ESRI suite emphasizes web-based GIS, geodatabase design, and Python scripting.

Daily tasks include building geospatial applications and workflows using ArcGIS tools and APIs to meet business demands. Publish web layers, configure web apps for internal or public use, and insert data like coordinates, imagery, and tabular data into GIS databases. Use desktop GIS for data analysis and map creation.

Coordinate closely with team members for fixes, unit testing, and configuration management in a collaborative environment. Oversee system architecture, database optimization, and GIS activities aligned with customer goals. Automate geoprocessing with Python scripting languages.

Maintain geospatial documentation, develop quality standards, and support work plans for complex projects. Stay abreast of latest GIS field and database management developments. Manage geospatial databases and create effective maps and aerial photography.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of GIS Specialist or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience with performing and conducting geospatial analysis using ESRI GIS products
  • Demonstrated experience with Python, ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Server, Portal, Web AppBuilder, and other web-based products
  • Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online Administration
  • Demonstrated experience in Geodatabase Schema Design and Implementation
  • Strong analytical, communication skills
  • Highly adaptable to rapidly changing environments and situations

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain geospatial applications and workflows using ArcGIS tools and APIs based on growing and improving business demands
  • Integrate and leverage ArcGIS technologies for geospatial data management and analysis
  • Define and oversee system architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices
  • Develop, manage, and optimize database systems for efficiency, scalability, and performance
  • Publish web layers and configure web apps for internal and/or public consumption
  • Use Python or other scripting processes to automate geoprocessing and web mapping tools
  • Coordinate closely with team members to ensure proper implementation of fixes, unit testing and configuration management
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of GIS activities to meet outlined customer goals
