About this role

At LKAB’s Exploration Department, you’ll join a specialist team working across all hubs - Kiruna, Malmberget and Svappavaara. With a strong focus on collaboration, mentoring, and technical excellence, shape structural geology practices and contribute to the future of mineral exploration.

As a Structural Geologist, contribute expert knowledge to exploration activities across LKAB’s operations. Strengthen structural geology practices and support informed decision-making through mentoring, peer review, and technical leadership in the Specialist Team in Geology and Geodata.

Work across all hubs and exploration teams in a collaborative environment. Provide structural mapping and core logging expertise, integrate structural data with geophysics and 3D geological models, and conduct peer reviews to challenge interpretations.

Requirements

MSc or PhD in Geology
Experience in structural geology and its application in mineral exploration and mining
Experience with geological modelling and/or GIS software such as Leapfrog, ArcGIS, or equivalent
Experience in mentoring colleagues and supporting their development within multidisciplinary teams
Fluency in English, both spoken and written; Swedish is a plus, or willingness to learn
Valid B-class driver’s license

Responsibilities

Provide structural mapping and core logging expertise across multiple exploration projects
Lead and mentor junior and mid-level geologists in structural geology best practices
Contribute to consistent and high-quality structural input in geological models
Integrate structural data with geophysics and 3D geological models
Conduct peer reviews and challenge interpretations to improve decision-making
