About this role
Under administrative direction with broad latitude for independent actions, the Senior GIS Developer administers ArcGIS Online by managing users, roles, groups, security, and content lifecycle for NYC Parks. This role designs, develops, and implements advanced GIS applications using the ESRI ArcGIS platform. Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal is essential.
Daily tasks include leveraging Python and ArcGIS Data Interoperability tools to automate geoprocessing, data transformation, and system integration. Support ETL workflows by building data transformation tables, conduct spatial analysis, and generate reports. Develop dashboards and visualizations to present findings effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting GIS applications, services, and infrastructure to ensure reliable performance. Ensure GIS data quality through audits, validation, and best practices for management. Work under minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with colleagues on multiple projects.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for GIS applications, processes, and workflows to support knowledge sharing. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines. Contribute to decision-making processes through spatial analysis and reporting.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure
- Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Enterprise Portal
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork by collaborating effectively with colleagues and sharing knowledge

- Ensure quality and accuracy of GIS data through audits, validation, and best practices
