About this role
Stantec is seeking a Senior Resource Geologist to be based out of Stantec’s US offices. This position requires broad mineral exploration and resource evaluation experience and proven technical competencies to support industrial and mining sectors. The successful candidate will provide resource exploration and modeling solutions complementing resource-reserve estimation, mining engineering, hydrogeology, mine planning, mineral processing, and financial analysis.
Daily responsibilities include building geologic models using software like Leapfrog, MinePlan, Carlson, or Vulcan. Analyze and interpret data with databases and GIS programs such as Microsoft Access, Excel, Power BI, or ArcGIS. Author independent technical reports as Qualified Person (NI43-101, S-K1300) or Competent Person (JORC), while managing exploration and resource estimation programs.

Requirements
- Diverse background in exploration and mining projects, past career focus in field exploration, database management, geologic modeling, and resource estimation.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong QA/QC skills.
- Knowledge of the independent reporting requirements under NI43-101, JORC and S-K1300.
- Willing to be registered with a professional organization to be recognized as a QP or CP.
- Understanding of project related risks.
- Exceptional organizational, technical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work and travel to remote locations for short periods (e.g. two weeks).
