About this role

AECOM is seeking a talented, energetic GIS professional for immediate employment as a seconded employee at MCB Camp Pendleton IGI&S office. This GIS Specialist III will lead a team supporting the USMC client within the Environment Business line, developing and deploying GIS across the installation.

Responsibilities include data conversion, migration, and exploitation using advanced geospatial techniques, along with gathering technical requirements and preparing project plans. The specialist will maintain quality assurance of spatial and non-spatial data and create visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS Pro, or Portal for ArcGIS.

This role works independently and in close coordination with the IGI&S manager and staff at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The candidate will communicate and collaborate with the project manager, project team, and client stakeholders to understand and document system requirements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency
  • 2+ years of GIS project management experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Solid foundation in GIS and geospatial analysis
  • Experience with ArcGIS enterprise environment
  • Team leadership and project communication skills
  • Commitment to quality and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Perform data conversion, migration, and exploitation activities using advanced geospatial processing techniques
  • Gather, review, and report on technical requirements to meet project goals and implement quality assurance procedures
  • Prepare project plans to successfully execute assigned work
  • Work directly with government staff to plan for and execute mission objectives
  • Maintain quality assurance of spatial and non-spatial data and processes as per defined standards
  • Create and maintain GIS data in an ArcGIS enterprise environment
  • Develop visualizations and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS Pro, or Portal for ArcGIS
