About this role

Audubon is currently seeking a GIS Developer to join our team. The GIS Developer will excel in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive geospatial solutions using cutting-edge technologies. They will play a key role in creating, analyzing, and maintaining the spatial data production portfolio across the company.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Account, the GIS Developer processes data collected by field crews, communicates with project teams, reports progress to the Project Manager, and mentors junior GIS analysts. This pivotal role at Audubon Field Solutions builds the foundation for deliverables. It ensures consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals through project direction and execution.

Daily responsibilities include reviewing and processing files from field crews, working closely with field personnel on data feedback. Customize GIS viewers for field services and pipeline engineering, develop management of Change tools. Update spatial databases with SQL queries and maintenance.

Develop scripts and workflows to automate repetitive GIS tasks, integrate survey, spatial, engineering data sources. Provide technical support, administer GIS infrastructure including software and servers. Manage user accounts, data backups, and software licenses for optimal utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in equivalent field or related work experience
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Field experience preferred
  • Experience with Trimble GPS Equipment, Total Station, Level, Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated software programming and debugging skills
  • Experience processing, cleaning, and analyzing data from web services (WMS/WFS)
  • Proficiency in SQL queries for spatial database maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Review and process files and data from field crews on a daily basis
  • Work closely with field personnel to provide feedback and concerns on field data and documentation
  • Mentor junior GIS analysts
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise GIS custom applications and data integration solutions
  • Customize and develop GIS viewers for field services and pipeline engineering, develop MOC tools
  • Update and maintain spatial databases with SQL queries and maintenance queries
  • Develop scripts and workflows to automate repetitive tasks within the GIS environment
  • Integrate various data sources including survey data, spatial data, and engineering data into the GIS system
