About this role
The primary purpose of the Archaeological Geophysicist (Assistant) role is to undertake geophysical field surveys. This involves driving across the UK and staying away during the week, executing surveys, and ensuring collected data is of high quality. Surveys mainly comprise cart-based magnetometer surveys, with opportunities for electromagnetic induction or ground penetrating radar.
Day-to-day tasks include liaising with landowners or external stakeholders, undertaking equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and completing site documents and paperwork. The role is primarily fieldwork-based at around 75% of time, with semi-regular office rotations for interpreting magnetometry data and contributing to survey reports.

Requirements
- Minimum of six months experience in the Heritage, Geology or Geophysics sectors
- Demonstrable geophysical survey experience
- Full UK manual driving license
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers and away from home
- Self-motivated and driven
- Eligible to work in the UK without restriction
Responsibilities
- Undertake geophysical field surveys across the UK
