About this role

A Geophysicist (Supervisor) is a burgeoning technical leader responsible for supervising day-to-day activities on geophysical projects. This includes both fieldwork and reporting elements on large, complex, and non-standard surveys like GPR, EM, and multimethod projects. Fieldwork capacity averages 40-50% of the time with emphasis on complex supervision.

Lead planning of survey strategies during fieldwork to ensure successful execution. Ensure office and fieldwork work hits or exceeds targets and deadlines. Provide line management for junior staff alongside hands-on project oversight.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in the Heritage, Geology or Geophysics sectors
  • Competent and experienced geophysical surveyor, with demonstrable experience of successfully supervising teams on site
  • Full UK manual driving license
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers & away from home
  • Self Motivated and Driven
  • Eligible to work in the UK without restriction

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day activities on geophysical projects, including fieldwork and reporting
  • Lead planning on survey strategies during fieldwork, including large, complex, and non-standard projects (e.g., GPR, EM, multimethod)
  • Ensure office and fieldwork work hits or exceeds targets and deadlines
  • Develop and train junior staff members
  • Provide line management of junior staff
  • Supervise complex and non-standard projects averaging 40-50% of time
  • Feed into development and support of analysis, technical, and research activities
